MARIANGELA CAMA
She is an architect, senior technical officer at the Department of Territory and Environmental Protection.
She has extensive experience in territorial, landscape, and urban planning, and has been responsible for complex technical-administrative procedures and legislative proposals.
From 2019 to 2021, she served as Technical Councillor for the Municipality of Reggio Calabria with responsibility for Sustainable Urban and Territorial Planning, Strategic Project Programming, Building, Urban Monitoring, Public Property, Mobility and Transport, and Public Companies.
Since 2017, she has been a board member of the Order of Architects of the Province of Reggio Calabria, a role she continues to hold for the 2021-2025 term. She oversaw the general coordination of the first edition of the Biennale dello Stretto.

ALFONSO FEMIA
He is an architect, designer, and urban planner, who has worked internationally since 1995. He is the founder and president of Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia (formerly 5+1AA), with offices in Genoa, Milan and Paris.
His recent projects include the new Vimar headquarters in Marostica, the Dallara Academy in Parma, the BNL-BNP Paribas headquarters in Rome, Les Docks in Marseille, and the Corner in Milan.
He is co-founder of 500×100 Benefit Corporation, through which he develops cultural and research initiatives.
In 2019, he was director of the III International Biennale of Architecture in Pisa, and he was the creator and curator of the first edition of the Biennale dello Stretto in 2022. He has received numerous architecture awards in Italy and France and has published essays on cities in international journals.

FRANCESCA MORACI
She is an architect from Messina, with a PhD in Territorial Planning, a Master’s in Economic Policy and Planning, and a Fullbright Scholarship in Economics (Northern University, Boston). She is Full Professor of Urban Planning at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria. She served on the Board of Directors of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane and ANAS S.p.A. from 2015 to 2021, and has contributed to several urban and infrastructure reform laws, territorial strategies, and the development of public policies. She was one of 15 experts appointed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) for the National Strategic Plan for Ports and Logistics and served on the MIMS Commission for the reform of Italy’s national planning law, urban standards, and the Unified Building Code. She has authored numerous studies, sector plans, and masterplans, and was curator of the first edition of the Biennale dello Stretto.

FEDERICO PAROLOTTO
Architect at MIC-HUB, he works on transport planning and urban planning for public administrations and internationally renowned design firms. He was responsible for the mobility section of “Arcipelago Italia” at the Italian Pavilion of the Venice Biennale in 2018, and “The eyes of the city” at the Shenzhen Biennale in 2020.

GAIA SGARAMELLA
Architect, she is senior consultant at MIC-HUB in the transport planning department, working on national and international projects. Over the years, she has worked at Foster&Partners, WATG and, Allies and Morrison. She contributed to the «C40 Reinventing Cities» competition for Piazzale Loreto in Milan.

ALESSANDRA FERRARI
She graduated in 1989, and she worked as a designer and project manager for an American leading engineering company. Founder of her own professional practice in Bergamo, she works in design, construction, and consultancy in both the public and private sectors.
She was the first female President of the Order of Architects in Bergamo, she is vice president of the National Council of Architects PPC, leading the Culture Department, managing the Italian Architect Award and other projects.

GIUSEPPE SMORTO
He is a journalist, who worked for over 40 years at La Repubblica. He served as Head of the Sports section, of il Venerdì, and of the Turin newsroom.
For 13 years, he was editor-in-chief of La Repubblica‘s website. He concluded his career as Deputy Editor of the newspaper founded by Eugenio Scalfari.
In 2021 he won the “Reghium Julii” Award, journalism category, with his investigative book “A sud del Sud”.

ROSARIA ESTER MUSUMECI
Associate Professor of Hydraulics at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the University of Catania, with a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering. She is actively involved in research projects funded by the EU (e.g., HYDRALAB+, NEWS, Interreg Italy-Malta, etc.) and by national funding agencies.

ANNALISA METTA
Architect and associate professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Roma Tre, she focuses on the design of open spaces. She is one of the 16 emerging scholars in the field of landscape architecture research. She is the author of several books and won the competition for the design of the Poste Italiane River Park on the Tiber in Rome.

LUISA BRAVO
Engineer, she is founder and president of City Space Architecture. A researcher and university lecturer in Italy and abroad, in 2015 she founded the first academic journal dedicated to public space, The Journal of Public Space, in cooperation with UN-Habitat, the United Nations Human Settlements.

ORIZZONTALE
A collective of architects based in Rome, whose work spans architecture, landscape, public art, and self-construction. Since 2010, they have been promoting projects for relational public spaces, which have served as a testing ground for new forms of interaction between inhabitants and urban common goods. Since 2020, Orizzontale has founded and curated VUOTO, a trans media space for reflection and debate on the city and public space. The work of Orizzontale has been exhibited at international exhibitions, including the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Vienna Biennale, and the Oslo Architecture Triennale.

STEFANO CAPOLONGO
Architect, he is full professor of Hospital Design and Urban Health at the Politecnico di Milano. He s the director of the Department of Architecture, Building Engineering, and the Built Environment at Politecnico di Milano. He contributed to the drafting of the latest design recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) for new hospitals, published in 2023.

LUCIANO GALIMBERTI
Born in Milan in 1958, he founded the studio bgpiù Progettazione in 1985 with Rolando Borsato, adopting the innovative approach of design thinking.
The studio integrates architecture, interiors, design, and communication, going beyond the traditional artisan role. He is the president of the Italian ADI (Industrial Design Association).

FRANCESCO SCULLICA
Architect, full professor of Industrial Design at the Department of Design at the Politecnico di Milano. He is the scientific director of the Master’s in Interior Design at the Politecnico di Milano and the Master’s in EMDM for Innovative Environments at the Politecnico di Milano and Tongji University in Shanghai.
He engages in teaching, research, and consulting in the field of Hospitality and Hotel design for universities, design centers, brands, and hotel chains both in Italy and abroad.

FRANCESCO ALATI
Designer and art director. He holds a degree in Design and Visual Communication and a Master’s in Strategic Design and Creative Direction from the ABADIR Academy in Catania. He also completed a Master’s in Design Direction: Communication & Management at the IULM University in Milan. He is a founding member and the first president of the ADI Calabria territorial delegation.

LUCA MOLINARI
Architect, critic, curator, and Full Professor of Architectural Theory and Design at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. He is EditoriaL Director of Platform Architecture and Design, and collaborates as an independent author with Italian and international newspapers and magazines, including Corriere della Sera, La Stampa, L’Espresso, Domani, Domus, and Lotus.

GIOVANNI MULTARI
Architect since 1991, with a PhD in Urban Design since 1997, he has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture of the University of Naples Federico II since 2019. Since 1985, he has lived in Naples, where in 1955 he co-founded the studio corvino+multari with architect Vincenzo Corvino, based in Naples with offices in Milan. He has participated in several international competitions, leading to the realization of buildings for residential use, public and private offices, and the redevelopment of public open spaces.

MAURO FRANCESCO MINERVINO
Anthropologist and universitari lecturer, he teaches at the University of Calabria and the Academy of Fine Arts of Catanzaro. A scholar of ethnography and travel literature, he focuses on Mediterranean cultures and European minorities. He collaborates with newspapers and magazines, and has made an ethnographic film and a photographic exhibition in Genoa. In literature, he has published short stories and essays, winning several awards. He is the editorial director of Abramo Editore.

GAETANO DI GESU
Architect, expert in art and architecture, he has developed strong cultural ties with China, organizing exhibitions and moments of dialogue and exchange between Italy and China. He contributed his scientific expertise during the first edition of the Biennale dello Stretto.

ANGELA PELLICANÒ
She graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts of Reggio Calabria. She has held numerous solo and group exhibitions and is present in many public collections. Her ceramic works were selected to represent Italy in 2005 at the «Carousel des art» at the Louvre in Paris.

PASQUALE PIROSO
Always deeply connected to the theme of art, he graduated in Architecture with Paolo Portoghesi, with whom he collaborated on numerous nationally significant projects. Today, he “shares the vestiges” of Palazzo Canova with the renowned contemporary artist, Luigi Ontani. Here, while overseeing the architectural restoration of the neoclassical sculptor’s gallery, he later founded the architectural firm Loft Canova. In this environment that merges the ancient with the contemporary, art with architecture, important projects have emerged, focusing on the ongoing dialogue between art, interior design, and lighting design, inspired by nature and enabled by technology.
The studio specializes in interior design, residential projects, hotels, corporate headquarters, restaurants, and monumental restoration for both national and international clients.
LABORATORIES

FRANCESO GAROFALO
He founded Openfabric in the Netherlands in 2011, a landscape architecture studio for contemporary cities. He has led numerous award-winning projects worldwide and has taught and given lectures at MIT and Cornell University in the United States, as well as the University of Genoa in Italy.

MARIA CLAUDIA CLEMENTE
She graduated from University La Sapienza in Rome, she is a researcher at the same university, and has worked as a guest critic at Cornell University in Rome and New York. She co-founded a Master’s degree program in Exhibition and Public Design. She teaches and directs design workshops at various universities in Italy and internationally.

AMLETO PICERNO CERASO
Architect, co-founder of Medaarch, a design company specializing in digital fabrication technologies. He launched and coordinated the first Digital Craftsmanship Center established in Italy. He teaches Computational Design as a contract lecturer for the Building Engineering-Architecture degree program at the University Federico II of Naples.

CHAMSS AROUISE
She’s graduated in Architecture from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture et de Paysage in Bordeaux. She co-founded the Chamss Arouise Studio and has received numerous awards, published several works, and participated in the Venice Biennale.

GIORGIO TARTARO
Journalist specialized in architecture and design, he has extensive experience with RAI and Sky. He has directed various programs, collaborated with several magazines, and written books on the sector. He is co-director of the Master’s in Interior Design at the Politecnico di Milano.

FABRIZIA BERLINGIERI
Architect and PhD, Associate Professor of Architectural and Urban Design at the Politecnico di Milano. Since 2020, she has been part of the coordinating group for the research project “Fragilità Territoriali”, within the MUR funding program «Dipartimenti di Eccellenza».

GIOVANNI AURINO
He is an architect specializing in architectural design and overall coordination, he is the technical director and partner at Od’a Officina d’Architettura, an engineering company with over twenty years of experience, founded in 2001 by Neapolitan architects Bruno Discepolo and Alessandra Fasanaro. Aurino became partner in 2009.
In 2009, together with others, they founded ADO (Architecture Design Organization), engaged in international projects, and through it, the company AD+, a Joint venture with the partner company Flight LTD, with offices in Beijing, Tianjin, and Naples.
The studio continues a research process that originates and returns to Naples, drawing inspiration from the South and the entire Mediterranean region, maintaining a continuous exchange with prestigious academic institutions.
Numerous projects are ongoing and have been completed in Italy and abroad.

VINCE CASTELLANA
He works on architecture, design and communication projects. He is the director of the Master’s in Strategic Design and Creative Direction at Abadir, a contract professor at the Politecnico di Milano, and has been a lecturer at the Master’s in Design Management at IULM. He received a Compasso d’ Oro / Honorable Mention in the Research for Companies category. In 2007, he co-founded ADI Sicilia with Vanni Pasca.

MARCO INTROINI
Architect, he is a documentary photographer specializing in landscapes and architecture.
He is a Professor of Photography and Architectural Representation at the Politecnico di Milano and has been recognized as one of the twenty most influential architecture photographers of the past ten years.

MARIO FERRARA
Professional architecture photographer, he graduated in Architecture from the University Federico II of Naples. He holds a Master’s in Photographic Representation of Architecture and the Environment from the University La Sapienza in Rome and a PhD in Architecture. He collaborates with DiARC, the Department of Architecture at the University Federico II of Naples, for photography courses and photographic campaigns. He has numerous publications and exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
