CONTEST UNDER35

The meltemi reminds us that nothing is local in the meteorological world, that climate systems are intimately interconnected, and that no place is truly separate from another.

Nick Hunt, “Where the Wild Winds Blow” Neri Pozza, 2018

THE THEME

Nomadism is the contemporary model of adaptation to social and economic revolutions, not only for reasons of natural disasters, political exile or emergencies, but simply for study, work, evolution of collective civic models: as a spontaneous consequence, the home and the spaces of individual and collective living are changing, exploring different alternatives and new forms of ‘inhabiting’ places.
It is necessary, therefore, to open a field of investigation and reflection on the mutation of a perennially delocalised humanity, which requires new forms of residence and corresponding physical and mental structures.

After years of need-generating architecture, it is now necessary to reflect on contemporary people needs.

The Contest is addressed to:

  • young students, researchers, and professionals under 35
  • academic laboratories that have developed or are working on research projects compatible with the indicated themes, whose members are under 35
  • university research projects on the theme whose team is composed of members under 35

Within the scope of the general context the tree water lines and the cities of the future, considering the specificity indicated by the theme nomadism, young participants are tasked with:

  • identifying a key word/concept for project development
  • associating drawings, photographs, conceptual models, maps.

Example:
